The Other Side of the Heart

January 17th, 2012

I finally have paint covering the entire Ginormous Heart I’ve been working on for St. Jude. A couple of days ago I posted where I was at on one side. Today I’m posting the other side…

The Other Side – for now

I still have quite a way to go before I can call it finished. But, I will admit that it is very much a relief that there is paint covering the entire heart now. So far, I have gone through 3 full tubes of paint and will probably finish up at least 2 more before I’m done. It’s all for a great cause, though.

In between sessions with the Ginormous Heart I am also working on another Over the Under-Schmeerings (OTUS) painting. This is what I’ve got done so far…

OTUS in the Works

And, now that I’ve caught everyone up on what I’m up to, I think I’ll call it a day. I can’t wait to see both of these projects with fresh eyes in the morning.

Happy Creating!

I totally relate to your fresh eyes comment, Don. I spent all of yesterday painting (using up a ton of supplies because of the size of the work) and I couldn’t see straight by the end of day! Your heart will be fantastic, and I am intrigued with your OTUS in the works, looking forward to seeing more.

Oh, this heart is going to be good!!!

I love the cat eyes… and I’m busting to see how they relate to the skull.

Robin… Thank you! Even though I got more done on my heart today, I took some time off from the OTUS. I hope to get back to it tomorrow. I saw the wave you were working on and can see why you used tons of supplies. It’s huge and awesome… It’s awesomely huge!

Nicki… I hope so. I’m getting really excited, but still have a ways to go. As for my OTUS, I hope to find some kind of relation between the two of them soon… ;-)

It’s interesting to see your works-in-progress…both are looking sooooo interesting! Your work is never bland, that’s for sure!

Celeste… Thank you! Bland is not allowed in this studio at all.

Don, you are always so amazing! I can’t believe how prolific you are, you work like a dog Mr.! I am always so excited and inspired by what I find on your website. Can’t wait to see the ginormous heart finished, I am expecting amazingness as usual. Love the shmearing with the cat and scull just as it is in the photo but I am sure it will be even more wonderful as you progress. You are an inspiration!

Tonya… Thank you, so much! Does it count as “working like a dog” if you’re having fun? :-) It makes me proud to know that my work and work ethic can be inspiring to others. You make me blush.
